This story is part of a series I've told my children on all the construction vehicles that are pictured on Jotham's sheets. It has become the most requested of them.
Once there was a little boy named Jotham who had a sister named Karis. They both loved to learn about new things and one day they decided to go visit the construction site down the street. While there were there they saw lots of interesting vehicle, a cement mixer, a back hoe, a crane and a dump truck. They loved watching each of these machines at work. Around lunch time they noticed that nobody was using the dump truck and they decided to take a closer look at it. In fact, they even climbed inside. While they were inside they decided to start pushing all of the interesting nobs and levers. And then suddenly they started to hear a rumble (rrrrr) and they noticed that the truck was starting to dump its dirt. Karis looked at Jotham as said, "What did you push?" Jotham looked at Karis and said, "What did you push?" And both started pushing more levers to try to stop the dumping. And then all of suddenly they felt a quick jolt and heard another rumble (RRRR) and they realized that they were starting to move down the street. They looked out the window and saw that the construction men were yelling for them to stop but they didn't know what to do. They were very scared. All of a sudden they saw someone running up to the truck and open the door. It was Daddy! He jumped inside, pressed the break and stopped the truck. Karis and Jotham sat looking at Daddy, not knowing what to say. Daddy looked at them and said, "Karis, Jotham, I love you and I am glad you are safe but you have disobeyed." Then he brought them home, gave them discipline and big hugs because he loves them so very much!
